Oriental Salad
(Naomi Minahan sends this recipe that her family calls the ““Wedding Salad”” since she liked it so much, it was served at her wedding.)

1 head cabbage, shredded (no more than 3” long) |
½ C. broccoli florets |

3-4 green onion, shredded (~2” long) |
¼C. sesame seeds |
|
½ C. chopped red peppers (1/4 ”pieces) |
|
Combine above ingredients in a large bowl.

3 pkgs. Crushed Ramen noodles |
1 pkg. (1¾oz.) slivered almonds |
|
1 C. sunflower seeds |
|
Sauté #2 in ¼ C. butter until lightly brown. Reserve in a separate bowl.
Dressing:
|
1 C. olive oil |
1 pkg. Ramen noodle flavor pack or 1 t. vegetable soup base |
|
1 T. soy sauce |
1 t. black pepper |
|
½ C. secant or 1/3 C. honey |
¼ t. oregano |
|
½ C. vinegar |
|
Combine all dressing ingredients and shake well
Keep #1 and #2 separate until ready to serve. To serve: combine #1 and #2 then toss with the dressing. (about 16-20 servings)
